Thank you for your interest in volunteering for WDAV 89.9. The valuable time and effort volunteers contribute is an integral part of the success of the station.
The biggest need for volunteers is during WDAV's semi-annual Membership Campaigns. In a fun and sometimes hectic atmosphere, volunteers answer telephones and take pledge information from callers. The Membership Campaigns take place in the Spring and Fall, and volunteers sign up to work on the dates and times that best fit their schedules. Most volunteers find a two-hour shift the most convenient. Various restaurants donate edibles to help keep up the energy, and a good time is had by all. We broadcast live from the pledge room so you get to see your favorite announcers in action as well.
WDAV 89.9 also has an "on-call" volunteer program for folks who want to help out at other times during the rest of the year. The opportunities to help range from stuffing envelopes and helping with mailings to assisting staff with special activities. In the past, volunteers have helped serve ice cream at Membership Appreciation Day and have sold CD's and Tapes at an annual sale.
