On this program we head to the Museum of Art in Columbia, South Carolina, to hear a concert performance from the “Wadsworth & Friends” concert series. The title figure is pianist Charles Wadsworth, longtime head of chamber music programming at the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston and of a concert series upstate in the South Carolina State Capital. Listen to a Piano Quartet by Beethoven, a fun-filled Trio by Jean Françaix, and two selections by Robert Schumann—a rather short one for solo piano, and a considerably longer piece for piano quartet.
