Frank Dominguez

Weekdays, 9 p.m. - 12 mid.

Frank DominguezFrank Dominguez has been a familiar voice to WDAV listeners since he joined the station in 1994.  Over the years he has played a crucial part in station programming decisions through his various roles as Announcer Coordinator, Assistant Program Director, and Program Director.

Frank came to WDAV after several years pursuing parallel careers in public radio, theater and not-for-profit development. During that time he announced at 90.7 WFAE in Charlotte, directed and acted with local theater groups such as the Charlotte Shakespeare Company, Golden Circle Theatre, Actor's Theatre and Charlotte Repertory Theatre, and was the Director of Development and Public Relations at the Community School of the Arts.  Before Charlotte, he lived and studied in his hometown, New York, and New Orleans.  He holds degrees from Adelphi University and the University of New Orleans.

Frank and his wife, Liz, live in Charlotte where they're kept busy by their children Torie, Maria and Joe. At last count they had six pets: two dogs, two rabbits, one fish, and a turtle named Quarter (because that's how big he is). Happily most of Frank's interests are a part of what he does for a living. A few that he can't pursue while on the job are reading mysteries and spy novels (some favorites: Georges Simenon, John Le Carré, Ross Macdonald, Raymond Chandler, Walter Mosley, P. D. James, Ngaio Marsh and Dorothy L. Sayers), movies, lots of other kinds of music, and an occasional cigar.
