Pianist Ethan Uslan is a rare breed here in the 21st century -- he provides accompaniment for silent movies. His next presentation will be music for the 1930 Spanish film La aldea maldita – The Cursed Village – by the legendary director Florián Rey. Uslan chats with Frank Dominguez in the John Clark Performance studio, and plays some Albéniz as well as some of his trademark ragtime.
The screening will be at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art Sunday (3/17) evening at 7 o’clock, with our own Frank Dominguez providing translation of the Spanish titles.
