Classical Profiles
Series Debut: Friday, June 20, 2014 | 9:00 p.m.

Joseph Robinson

This Friday evening at 9, WDAV introduces a new program: Classical Profiles, a series of visits with prominent individuals who love classical music.

Joseph Robinson
Friday, June 20, 2014, 9:00 p.m.

We’re pleased to welcome as our first guest Joseph Robinson, former principal oboist of the New York Philharmonic. Joe is a graduate of Davidson College and a long-standing friend of WDAV. Hear him reflect on his life and career, and listen to musical selections he’s chosen.

"I met Marcel Tabuteau, the most important oboe player and teacher of the first half of the twentieth century as far as American oboists are concerned. He agreed to teach me because I was an English major from Davidson College, not because I was at the Curtis Institute."
- Joseph Robinson
