Acclaimed tenor Anthony Dean Griffey and distinguished composer Carlisle Floyd visit WDAV to speak with Frank Dominguez about their residency at Wingate University as part of that institution’s Campaign for Music. Floyd's operas are regularly performed in the U.S. and Europe. Not only has he received numerous honors and awards, but he also co-founded the Houston Opera Studio. Griffey, a Wingate alum, is a four-time Grammy Award winner. He has captured critical and popular acclaim on opera, concert and recital stages worldwide. The chat will include a preview of the pair's Friday performance at Wingate, as well as a discussion on the importance of public radio.
See Griffey perform some of Floyd's works on Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wingate University Batte Center.
