at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Charlotte on
Friday January 6th at 7:00 pm. The Main Street Sessions
Concert is a benefit to help raise awareness and support
for regional music and WDAV's Carolina Live series.
Its going to be a great evening of music so we hope

Street Series Begins Second Season on Sunday
A
new season of The
Main Street Sessions kicks off on Sunday, January
8th at 3:00 pm with a solo, a duo and a trio. The new
eight week series will feature more great performances
by regional artists recorded live at WDAV. Featured
this Sunday:
•
Bogota-born classical guitarist and composer, Aris Quiroga
• Flute and harp duo Shirley Gilpin and Betsey
Sesler
• A trio of Charlotte Symphony musicians; cellist
Alan Black, flutist Amy Orsinger Whitehead and violinist
Jane Hart Brendel

Music Debuts This Sunday
Classic
music meets classic films in WDAV’s new four week
series Reel
Music: Celebrating the Classic Movie Score. Host
Ted Weiner is joined by Davidson music professor Neil
Lerner, a specialist on film music, and together they
explore the role and influence of music in film from
the landmark scores of the silent era to present day.
Hollywood’s most famous composers will be featured
as well as classical music giants who took their turn
at composing for the screen. Turn down the house lights
and tune in Sundays at 4:00 pm – January 8th through
