Performance Today® Special: A Martin Luther King Celebration

On January 15, 2007, WDAV will air a special tribute program. Performance Today: A Martin Luther King Celebration will air at 7:00 pm and will feature highlights from a live concert event recorded at Morehouse College that includes the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in partnership with The King Center, Morehouse College, and Spelman College. WDAV's Jennifer Foster will also speak with conductor Charles Floyd about the Charlotte Symphony's local King celebration. Tune in Thursday 1/11, 9:30 a.m., Saturday 1/13, 11:30 a.m., or visit the WDAV Web site to listen.

Now on Sundays - SymphonyCast

WDAV has added a new series to its Sunday afternoon schedule. SymphonyCast is a two-hour weekly radio program featuring a full-length concert by a national or international symphony orchestra. Concerts are drawn from Europe's leading ensembles, along with U.S. orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra and The Cleveland Orchestra. Hosted by the Peabody-Award-winning Brian Newhouse, SymphonyCast airs Sundays at noon on WDAV now through June, 2007. For details, visit the SymphonyCast page at our Web site.

On the next Main Street Sessions

The Main Street Sessions bring you outstanding area musicians recorded live in WDAV’s Clark Performance Studio. Coming up -- Bill Gerhardt, a first call jazz pianist, composer and arranger. Host Jennifer Foster interviews the Asheville artist then he performs both improvisations and original compositions. Thursday January 18th at 9pm and rebroadcast Saturday January 20th at 1 pm.
