this week, Performance Today
will take listeners on a journey through arguably the
greatest set of symphonies ever written - the Beethoven
Symphonies. Maestro Christoph Eschenbach and
the Philadelphia Orchestra return to the national airwaves
for the first time in nearly a decade to perform all
nine of Beethoven's masterful works, including the exultant
finale of the Symphony No. 9, the "Ode
to Joy." Performance

Teen Takes it From the Top
Each
Sunday afternoon, From the Top
features performances by outstanding teenage talent
from across the country. This June, one of Carolina’s
own makes her debut on the national stage. Clarinetist
Ashlee Miller, a senior at the North Carolina School
of the Arts in Winston Salem, will perform Brahms Second
Sonata in E flat major accompanied by host Christopher
O’Riley,. The program airs on WDAV on June 11th
at 5:00 pm.
In
addition to her June 11th appearance on
From the Top, Ashlee will also be the
subject of a WDAV arts feature on Thursday morning,
June 8th at 9:30 am. The feature will be rebroadcast
Saturday morning, June 10th at 11:30 am.

Off to See The Wizard
Central
Piedmont Summer Theatre is back! Follow the yellow brick
road to the new Dale Halton Theatre on the CPCC main
campus as the series kicks off this weekend with its
first production – The Wizard of Oz.
