Weekly Arts Feature - Eastern Music Festival

Andre WattsFor more than 40 years the Eastern Music Festival has been training young musicians and giving some of the most eagerly anticipated summer concerts in the Carolinas. This week Jennifer Foster shares some highlights of this year’s festival in the first of two features. Find out more about the impressive roster of guest artists, which includes Andre Watts and Frederica von Stade, and wide variety of concert programs coming to the festival this year. Tune to 89.9 (or listen online at wdav.org) for the Weekly Arts Feature this Thursday morning (6/22) at 9:30 am and again Saturday morning (6/24) at 11:30 am. And if you can’t be there you can still catch the feature at our Interview Archives page.

Pops in the Parks!

WDAV hits the road for outdoor concerts featuring two great Carolina ensembles. Join us at Frank Liske Park in Concord on June 23rd for a concert featuring the North Carolina Jazz Repertory Orchestra. Then on June 30th, we travel to Village Park Kannapolis for a patriotic celebration with the Charlotte Symphony that includes a fireworks display. We’ll be on site so stop by the WDAV tent for prizes and to meet the staff. Both events are sponsored by the Cabarrus Arts Council, and details on each concert can be found at the WDAV events calendar. Hope to see you there!
