September's show features seven outstanding music students, including Sarah Sullivan of Davidson and David Belkovski of Huntersville, from the WDAV listening area performing works meant to put their instruments of choice on display. BBC Proms on WDAV

Over 100 years ago, when the world famous Proms festival was formed, and the vision behind its creation was to bring the widest range of music, performed at the highest levels, to large audiences. Today the BBC Proms festival remains true to that original purpose, presenting over 70 main concerts every year, ever widening the range of symphonic and operatic music presented and welcoming both leading international performers as well as the best of the British music scene, including the BBC's own orchestras and choirs. Highlights from the 2007 summer festival will be featured during the month of September on SymphonyCast (heard on WDAV Sundays, at 12 noon). In addition, WDAV will again offer a special trans-Atlantic broadcast of the raucous, rollicking “Last Night of the Proms” concert presented live from the Royal Albert Hall in London on Saturday, September 8 at 2 p.m. Get details.

Spoleto Chamber Music Series

One of the most prestigious arts festivals in the country, Spoleto USA, takes place right here in the Carolinas every year. Enjoy world-class performances from Charleston in the Spoleto Chamber Music Series which features new talent as well as known musicians. It airs Saturdays at 2 p.m. starting September 15th.
