From the Desk of Frank Dominguez

frank DominguezWell, summer is really over, and the fall season is upon us. Symphonies are tuning up, theaters are in full-swing --- and WDAV is preparing for its annual fall on-air membership drive. We’ve chosen some inspirational classics and picked out some terrific music gifts hoping to get you to the phone! With your help, its going to be a great week for WDAV. Read below for details on i-Pledge Weekend, or call during the drive (9/26-9/30) at 1-800-723-9328.

I’ll be traveling to St. Louis next week for the Public Radio Program Directors Conference where I’ve been invited to report on a national project that I've led assisting classical music radio stations in other cities. And I hope to pick up ideas from my public radio colleagues on how we can improve our services to you and the community. Jennifer Foster will be sitting in for me during the evening hours from 9 to 11 while I’m gone.

Till then, I’ll be listening online at wdav.org!

i-Pledge, You Pledge!

iPod PhotoEarly birds – we’ve got something better than a worm for you to catch! Make an early oline pledge of support to WDAV’s Fall Celebration 2005 next weekend and you could win an iPod Photo!

WDAV depends on you to make your contribution to keep classical music on the air for another year. Our fall on-air drive begins September 26th and we’re keeping it to just five days once again. But you can help us keep these drives short by making an internet pledge the weekend of September 23 – September 25, 2005. All online pledges made during i-Pledge weekend will count toward our overall membership goal – and everyone will be registered for our i-Pledge prize. Thanks for listening and thanks for making a difference to WDAV – a difference you can hear every day!
