Youth
Concerto Competition
High
School age musicians are invited to apply to audition
for the fifth annual Youth
Concerto Competition sponsored by the Charlotte
Civic Orchestra (formerly the Charlotte Repertory Orchestra)
and the Charlotte Music Teachers Association. WDAV is
pleased to be a media partner for this event. For detailed

contests. You could win tickets to local events or even
classical cd's. On the site right now are contests for
tickets to the Oratorio
Singers performance of Verdi's Requiem
and Carolinas Concert Association's presentation of
the Munich
Symphony.
Last
Weekend for ASID Showhouse
The
34th annual Charlotte Symphony Guild ASID Showhouse
is open though Sunday, October 23. This year's Showhouse
is a 1913 home located at 911 Ardsley Road in the heart
of Myers Park. Proceeds from the Showhouse allow the
Symphony Guild to support its enrichment projects, the
Charlotte Symphony and youth music education. WDAV is
pleased to be a media sponsor for this project. For

couple of exhibitions in our area cover a wide range
of taste. If you enjoy the old masters, don't miss Renaissance
to Rococo: Masterpieces from the collections of the
Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art at Charlotte's
Mint Museum of Art now through January 15th. And if
you're more into modern American culture, you'll want
to check out Diane
Arbus: Family Albums at Reynolda House Museum of
American Art in Winston Salem now through December 4th.
