 I
have a love/hate relationship with the holidays. The traditions
and gatherings are great, but the stress of these busy days
can overwhelm. Music helps. Its music that reminds me of what
its really about, calming my nerves, calling back memories,
connecting with the meaning of the season. I hope you’ll
join us at WDAV beginning on Thanksgiving as we present a
feast for your ears (and your hearts). And I hope to see you
at one of the upcoming events WDAV will be hosting in the
coming weeks. Its just the beginning of a holiday filled with
great music here at WDAV.

for the Music
 Pull
up a chair and get ready to fill up on great music as
WDAV presents two Thanksgiving specials. A
Feast for the Ears airs Thanksgiving afternoon at
5 pm. Host Mark Perzel blends chamber, orchestral and
vocal music into a bountiful program with an emphasis
on American music. Friday afternoon at 5 pm, listen
for Giving
Thanks: A Celebration of Fall, Food and Gratitude.
This thoughtful special combines beautiful music with
spoken word reflections on the season and the holiday
and some very special guests.

Invited
 This
year WDAV is hosting not one, but two Holiday Open House
Parties at our studios on Main Street in Davidson: December
1st, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and December 3rd, 3:00 pm to
6:00 pm. We'll have light refreshments, tours
of the studio for both adults and kids, door prizes,
music and a chance to meet your favorite WDAV announcers.
Held in conjuction with the annual Christmas in Davidson,
there will be lots of fun going on in downtown Davidson
as well, including carriage rides and a visit from Santa!
