A special holiday edition of Carolina Live features outstanding performances of season music from local ensembles and artists. And Sunday night continues the long and much beloved tradition of the vespers service from Davidson College Presbyterian Church featuring Davidson College ensembles.

Sounds of the Season at Old Salem

WDAV travels to Winston Salem this Saturday, December 9th to celebrate with the folks at Old Salem Museums and Gardens during the day long Sounds of the Season event. Enjoy a traditional Moravian Brass Band in the historic district, along with period music inside the exhibition building. The day is filled with lots of family activities, shopping and special music events, including a Carol Sing at 4:00 pm. Sounds of the Season takes place from 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9th. Read more about it at the Events Calendar.

The holiday music at WDAV 89.9 is increasing with each passing day. In fact, most of our great holiday specials have yet to air. This weekend the schedule starts to get busy; so, you might want to check out the Holiday Programs page at our Web site to see what airs when. Two Chanukah Specials

A Taste of Chanukah - Actor Theodore Bikel hosts an evening of traditional, high-spirited storytelling and music featuring musicians from the New England Conservatory. Two chances to catch this lively celebration -- Saturday, December 16 at 6 pm and again Thursday, December 21 at 9 pm.

Chanukah in Story and Song - The Western Wind Vocal Ensemble performs traditional Ladino music of Medieval Spanish Jews, Eastern European Yiddish melodies, contemporary Israeli songs and much more. Actor Leonard Nimoy hosts. Sunday December 17th at 7 pm and Thursday, December 21st at 10 pm.
