UNC Charlotte Opera Workshop and the Chamber Orchestra present a double bill of Giacomo Puccini's one-act operas - two-thirds of the great Italian composer's Il Trittico (The Tryptich). "Suor Angelica" tells the tragic and moving story of a young nun, Sister Angelica, who has her illegitimate son taken from her at birth and is banished to a convent by her family. "Gianni Schicchi," a comic opera based on an episode of Dante's Inferno involving the titular character, explores the greed, conspiracy, and overall dysfunction within a greiving family.
