The Symphony Guild of Charlotte and the Charlotte Symphony (CSO) continue to celebrate our symphonic future at the 26th annual Youth Festival to be held Thursday, February 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Belk Theater in the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.

This annual concert highlights the talents of the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO), the Junior Youth Orchestra (JYO) and the grand-prize winner of the senior division of the Guild’s annual Young Artists Competition. The current titleholder from the 2013 competition in January is pianist, Chambers Loomis, a senior at Christ School in Asheville, N.C. and Morehead-Cain Scholarship finalist.

The program will consist of separate performances by the CSYO and the JYO, the CSO accompanying Mr. Loomis, and, in an exhilarating grand finale, the Youth Orchestra playing side by side with the CSO in a 160-person-strong ensemble.
