Every pipe organ has a unique character and collection of sounds. This concert features the Grooms and Payne, Ltd., Opus 283, 2010, a huge instrument that boasts a kaleidoscope of different orchestral colors: from oboes and bassoons to flutes and clarinets to trumpets and trombones! The Grooms and Payne boasts twenty-some stops (out of its 115 total) that produce the most distinct of these tones- using reed pipes. This is a large number for any organ! You’ll hear many of them featured in this concert. You will also have a great view of the organist as he plays the console’s five keyboards and pedal! Program presented by Timothy Olsen. Free to the public.
