  • The Viennese court of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II (r. 1619-37) was the center of a rich music culture. The Hapsburgs looked to Italy for their composers and performers. Works from the imperial court were the earliest to incorporate Italian innovations of dramatic and melodic inventiveness north of the Alps. Be transported to the 17th century to hear rarely performed music of composers Castello, Arrigoni, Priuli and Bruni. For tickets and additional information: www.carolinapromusica.org.
